This application is an educational tool designed to help users practice social and communication skills. It is not intended to provide therapy, counseling, medical advice, or crisis intervention. 1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SELChat™ ("the App"), provided by NextGenEd Solutions LLC, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SELChat™ is an educational platform that provides interactive social-emotional learning (SEL) simulations. The App uses AI-powered conversations and branching scenarios to help users practice social skills, communication, and decision-making in a safe virtual environment.

3. Nature of the Service

The App is an educational tool only. It is explicitly not:

  • A licensed therapy or counseling service
  • A substitute for professional mental health care
  • A crisis intervention tool
  • Medical advice of any kind
  • A diagnostic tool for mental health conditions

5. User Eligibility

The App is designed for use by middle school students (ages 11–14) and educators. Users under the age of 13 should use the App only with parental or guardian consent and supervision, in accordance with COPPA requirements.

6. AI-Generated Content

The App uses artificial intelligence to generate dialogue, scenarios, and feedback. AI-generated content may not always be perfectly accurate, appropriate, or reflective of best practices in every situation. Users should exercise their own judgment and consult qualified professionals for real-life decisions.

7. Limitation of Liability

NextGenEd Solutions LLC shall not be held liable for any damages, claims, or losses arising from the use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to any emotional distress, reliance on AI-generated content, or decisions made based on interactions within the App. The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

9. Use by Clinicians and Counselors

SELChat™ may be used by clinicians, therapists, and counselors as a supplemental educational tool to help clients practice communication and social-emotional skills.

However:

  • SELChat™ does not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment of any kind.
  • The platform does not replace professional judgment or clinical care.
  • Clinicians are solely responsible for how they use the platform in their practice.
  • NextGenEd Solutions LLC is not responsible for clinical decisions, treatment outcomes, or client interactions that occur as a result of using the platform.

Use of SELChat™ in a clinical setting is at the discretion and responsibility of the licensed professional.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
